All-in-one computers are the bridge between laptops and desktop computers. Laptops obviously provide the most about of mobility, while tower desktop computers have the most potential for upgrades and processing power. All-in-one desktop computers provide the best of both worlds — incredible processing power with many of the unique features like touchscreen capabilities that are found in laptops.
When you’re looking for a new all-in-one computer for sale, here are some questions you should ask yourself:
- Do I need a touchscreen?
- What kind of connectivity do I need?
- Do I do most of my work in one place?
- What features am I looking for?
For instance, if you like to get hands-on with your photo and video editing, consider the Microsoft Studio 2 that has an incredible touchscreen. But if you want plenty of content creation power and don’t mind not having a touchscreen, the new iMacs are incredibly power and much more affordable.
Again, if you have plenty of peripherals you’d like to connect, consider something like the Dell Inspiron that has plenty of processing power and connectivity over something like the iMac which only sports four USB-C ports.
Our recommendations below for the best all-in-one computer will help you find the best choice for your needs. If you’re team Mac, your choice will be really simple, but if you are open to both Mac and PC, any one of the all-in-one’s below are a solid choice.
1. HP Envy 32 All-in-One PC
BEST OVERALL
Beyond processing power, all of the small touches combined make the HP Envy 32 one of the most sought-after all-in-one PC options available. For starters, the 32-inch display is huge and crystal clear with 4K resolution. All tasks look sharp, but the high 4K resolution along with the graphics card makes this ideal for even watching shows, movies or gaming. Speaking of entertainment, the soundbar built-in below the display sounds great, and great sound is rare for any computer or laptop. Finally, the base of the all-in-one is a wireless charger. This is a feature-rich all-in-one.
Pros: It has many features like a wireless charging base and soundbar.
Cons: The display does not have touchscreen capabilities.
2. iMac M1 Chip
BEST MAC
When you combine style and power, the iMac M1 is one of the best all-in-one computers available. The newly designed iMac is thin and vibrant with multiple colors to choose from and has the all-new M1 chip inside making it one of the more powerful computers around. Additional features in this new redesign include a fingerprint scanner for added security and a better FaceTime camera that shoots in 1080p than its predecessors. We do wish there was more connectivity other than the four USB-C connectors on the back and the iMac does lack a touchscreen, but if you’re team Mac, those aren’t deal-breakers. Overall, this is one impressive and absolutely beautiful iMac.
Pros: It is available in multiple colors and has a fingerprint scanner for added security.
Cons: The connectivity isn’t as robust as other all-in-one options.
3. HP 24 All-in-One (2021)
BEST BUDGET
The 24-inch 1080p display allows you to interact with your work in more ways than one thanks to touchscreen capabilities. You can max out configurations on the HP 24 without the price becoming astronomical like many other all-in-one’s as well. For instance, you can increase the storage from 256GB to 512GB for only $60 more. We do wish the connectivity was a bit more modern, as there are many USB-A connectors and an HDMI connection but lacks USB-C connectivity. Regardless, you get a lot with this computer without spending a lot.
Pros: This is an affordable all-in-one computer with touchscreen capabilities.
Cons: Lacks modern connectivity like USB-C ports.
4. Microsoft Surface Studio 2
BEST FOR CREATORS
The Microsoft Surface 2 is appropriately named for being an absolute workhorse in the studio, especially if you are a content creator. It comes bundled with an S-Pen and with touchscreen capabilities, you can edit, sketch and draw right on the display. The display can even tilt to create a workspace that’s ideal for sketching and editing with the S-Pen. If you’re more inclined to use this for office work, the overall processing power is plenty quick. Plus it supports USB-C. The only real drawback we see is this is one expensive all-in-one compared to others.
Pros: This is a content creator’s dream with a vibrant touchscreen and stylus included.
Cons: It is expensive compared to other all-in-one options.
5. Dell Inspiron 24 5000 All-In-One Desktop
HONORABLE MENTION
Looking for an affordable all-in-one computer that will get the job done? Here at SPY, we’re big fans of the Dell Inspiron line, and this budget-friendly all-in-one is a great option for small businesses who need multiple desktops. The 1TB 7200 rpm 2.5″ SATA Hard Drive is powerful enough for most computing tasks, although it is a bit light on internal memory. However, it has a good monitor powered by an Intel graphics card, and it’s a great option for most people.
Pros: Sleek design and an affordable price point.
Cons: No built-in webcam like some Dell all-in-ones.
