She’s based in Los Angeles, CA. Before joining the SPY team. Taylor was working for herself as a digital content consultant for 10 different companies across the country. She ran social media channels, created blog content, sent out newsletters and managed whole digital portfolios for individuals and brands across multiple industries. Taylor graduated in 2018 from Scripps College in Claremont, CA with a B.A in sociology and media studies.
Taylor Galla, previously SPY’s Senior E-Commerce Editor, has been covering a wide range of health topics across SPY’s Wellness vertical for years — from the latest luxury Peloton release to whether supplements actually make a difference (mostly, they don’t). She’s interviewed dozens of medical, social and psychological experts, and distilled down the passionate ramblings of many a health entrepeneur into the most pertinent bits for readers. She’s a RYT 200 certified yoga instructor and an enthusiastic guinea pig for the whackiest of health trends (within reason).
Before working at SPY, Galla started her own media consulting business in Los Angeles where she wrote, designed, photographed, edited and posted for upwards of 12 different clients. She advised on everything from website design to social copy, working with influential names like Pete Carroll and organizations like the L.A Downtown Women’s Center. She is a graduate of Scripps College in Claremont, CA where she fully embraced her liberal arts education and wrote an honors thesis about the power of photographic journalism in a recurrent fake news cycle.
When she’s not honing a piece on yet another dangerous TikTok health phenomenon, Galla can be found running and cycling along the Mississippi River in her current location of Minneapolis, Minnesota. If she’s not there, she’s probably engrossed in the latest HBO Sunday night drama or pickling vegetables.
